The Importance Of Having British Virgin Islands Law

By Timothy Kennedy

The best societies in the world are based on law and order. Those are the two most important matters in society. Without them, a society is as good as dead. Lawlessness and lack of order are the two characteristics of a failed society. The British Virgin Islands (BVI) society is not a failed society in any way. As a matter of fact, it is one of the most successful societies in the entire world. That is because there is British Virgin Islands law that is usually respected and followed by the citizens of this territory.

According to the law, People have rights. They also have freedoms. In any democratic society, there is a good deal of freedoms. People have a freedom of assembly. They can assembly in public and discuss issues. People are also free to demonstrate even if there are demonstrating against the government. However, a demonstration must be peaceful. In dictatorships, people have little or no freedoms. They follow dictates.

With rights come responsibilities. Rights cannot exist without responsibilities. Every human being needs to live in a responsible manner. Failure to do so can lead to legal action. It is the responsibility of every resident of British Virgin Islands to pay taxation and to take good care of his surroundings. One must not throw trash everywhere. That is bad.

Paying taxation is a fundamental responsibility in most parts of the world. Taxation should not be seen as a burden. Actually, it is a good thing. One of the most moral things that one can do is to pay taxes. That is due to the fact that taxation revenue is usually used to fund government activities. It is used to pay police and military.

BVI law serves many purposes. It ensures that a person peaceful co-exists with another individual. Peaceful co-existence is an important issue in society. It also deals with issues related to business. Some legal stipulations that lay out how a company can be formed in this part of the world. Of course, it is easy to incorporate in BVI.

The constitution is one of the most important documents in a country. It covers many areas of life and business. Preparing the constitution usually takes many years. Legal experts are usually involved in constitution preparation. The constitution can be amended so that to reflect the present realities of society. That has to be done through a referendum process.

A lawyer is a professional who has a thorough knowledge of constitutional matters. It takes five years for one to become a lawyer. During those five years, an individual will be studying the constitution. Therefore, after being called to the bar, one will be in a position to carry a wide array of legal activities including representing people in a court of law.

One needs to live in a legal manner. An individual should respect the rights and freedoms of other people. One is free to enjoy all his freedoms so long as they do not enjoy on the freedom of other people. That is fact. It is a reality that every BVI citizen needs to appreciate in his daily life.
