David J. Irwin is a reputable engineering powerhouse in America. He was born on ninth of August in 1939, in Minnesota, America. He is a significant figure who has made sterling contributions, especially as an engineering educator as well as author, in engineering and other fields related to it. David Irwin has written many textbooks that have increasingly attracted populism not only in America, but the whole world.

Born in 1939 in the city of Minnesota Minneapolis in United States, Irwin grew being utterly passionate and interested in engineering. His hard work and passion paved his way to the Auburn University, where he was awarded a degree, in the year 1961. Not yet satisfied, he went on to acquire a Master in engineering a year later. In 1967, Irwin earned a remarkable PhD degree from Tennessee University of Knoxville. After becoming a professor, he was made an assisting professor of engineering at Auburn University.

Irwin was awarded a B. E. E Bachelor degree at Auburn University in 1961. He further pledged on, and earned himself a Master degree from Tennessee University in 1962, and later a PhD degree in 1967, from the same institution, Tennessee University in Knoxville. In 1969, Irwin joined the coveted Auburn University, but as a Deputy Professor in Electrical Engineering. Today, David is the Head of ECE in Auburn, as is Earle Williams Eminent Scholar.

He was also rewarded with ASEE ECE Distinguished educators Medal in 2001. In 1985, the Society of US Military Engineers awarded him with a Bliss medal. IEEE Education Activity Board gave him a Meritorious Service Citations award in 1991. In 2006, he was awarded the highly reputed and prestigious Vice President Recognition medal, otherwise called the deputy head of state commendation award.

This award was based on his impeccable contribution for his long and distinguished track record and service to IEEE in areas of Education, technical as well as publication. He has since been affectionately viewed or known by majority of his students, as the coach largely for his humble and meek teaching circuits. His teaching modes have made him very popular and a favorite amongst students who are truly interested in learning.

Many of his students have lauded his sterling teaching styles, terming them as down to earth and very effective learning tools. He has been applauded as being one of the most proficient and still humble engineering educators of all times. Students who truly are passionate about learning electronics or engineering in general have shown affection to his remarkable teaching styles. This is why his students call him Coach.

His authorship prowess is also noteworthy. He has written many groundbreaking books in engineering, and this has extended his popularity in not only the ECE, but the engineering communities in general. Examples of significant books he has ever penned include Basics Engineering Circuit Analyses, Essentials of Electrics and Computer Engineering, among others.

Not only has Irwin concentrated his life on molding his engineering career, but has also engaged in a host of entrepreneurial activities. He has been associated with arrays of start-up companies, for example Aunigma Solutions. The company is a large Information Technology company that is based in Atlanta in Georgia. It addresses modern Internets Protocol networks, and its products are usually grounded on Intellectuals Property IP made at ECE Departments, in Auburn University.
