During the early twenty century and the nineteenth century the black people in America we being viewed as less human. This led to them being denied civil and human rights, it was important for the black people to stand up for themselves and prove they were as well important and capable. Among those who stood up are women hence we celebrate the African American women in history. They became great in their professions and also gained social responsibilities .
First and foremost we look at the life and old days of Mae.C.Jemison. She became the first African American woman in history to go or land in space.This was contributed by her excellent qualifications and work spirit.she was a trained medical doctor and also a surgeon . Mae. C. Jemison was also a engineer adding to her great professional values.She hit record when space shuttle endeavor made it to space since she was part of great team on board. Many will remember and look up to her for this great achievement .
Talking of other strong persons in our topic, Goode, Sarah S was well known business woman and inventor.she invented life changing inventions which really became helpful to a lot of American citizens.One of this inventions was the folding cabinet bed.This invention was used as a desk and provided stationery and writing platform. Goode. Sarah. S owned a big furniture store that helped many in Chicago . In her life she made another great invention which was a bed which was suitable for small apartments.
The year 1936 February 21 up until January 1996 Barbara Jordan lived another worthy life to be celebrated.she emerged as a great inspiration when she became the first black US congress woman from deep south.Barbara served Texas in the US house of representatives.was also keen on advocating for the rights of the poor people of that time.
Truth sojourner also became a great woman in history by being a preacher as well as leading in the political side which was a great task to manage especially as a woman . She was however good in that tusk if not successful since her leadership saw her become a worker as a counselor for national freedom relief association being born as a slave in New York became a motivation to fight for slavery abolition . During a civil war in US she helped fellow blacks who were soldiers in the union get supplies.Truth also advocated for human rights appreciation which was forgotten .
Rosa parks a woman of great courage born in the year 1913 was also another great heart in support of war for promotion of civil rights.Her acts of courage were seen when she was once asked to step down from office just to create room for a white man which she refused.this led to her being fined.
Shirley Anita born in Brooklyn was a lady who dedicated her time to serving the people as a teacher. She also was a politician who represented her people well as an assembly woman . As a democrat Shirley became a member in the congress
From the discussion above we can note that the women in ancient times really out merged several challenges to turn out as great people world wide. They helped despite them being termed as inferior for factors such as color or them being related to slaves.we can therefore conclude that we should emulate their outstanding characters such as self belief and bravely.
